Health and Socio-economic developments are so closely intertwined that it is impossible to achieve one without the other. While India's economic development over the last decade has been noteworthy, our health indicators are very poor. The health sector in India is experiencing what I call a "1-2-3 challenge" India needs 1 Million Doctors 2 Million Nurses and 3 Million Hospital beds So as to achieve the world average for the above indicators per 1000 population. The projected requirement for the number of hospital beds calls for a large number of hospitals to come up in the near future.
